Project Assistant (Volunteer or Part-time)

We’re looking for a motivated individual to support a community heritage initiative focused on preserving local history and strengthening cultural storytelling along the California coast.

This role provides support across project coordination, community outreach, content creation, and partnerships. You’ll help move an exciting heritage project forward and contribute to building a future cultural asset for the community.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with project organization, scheduling, and communication
• Help develop and share stories through writing, photography, and social media
• Engage the local community and help build awareness around the project
• Support relationships with partners, local organizations, and city offices
• Document progress and prepare updates for the team

Who You Are:

• Passionate about history, storytelling, or community work
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable speaking with people
• A clear communicator (written or visual)
• Able to work independently with flexible hours
• Remote work is possible, but because occasional site visits are needed, a local presence in the Bay Area is strongly preferred

Compensation: volunteer or part-time paid at $35/hour
